NICEIC, the UK’s leading accreditation body for electrical contractors, has appointed Inkfish Services to provide the certification required by all householders as a result of the government’s ‘Part P’ regulations.
NICEIC estimates that it will send out around one million certificates in its current financial year and so has outsourced to Inkfish to provide high speed, high quality, cost-efficient support services.
"It is now a legal requirement for homeowners and landlords to prove that all new electrical installation complies with the new regulations. The Part P certification, which we administer, proves that the work has been carried out by a registered installer,” explains Jim Speirs, Director General NICEIC.
”As one of the leading providers of compliance certification, it is essential that the certificates reach households speedily. Sign off on new extensions, for example, can depend upon them and it will be impossible to sell a house without the required documentation. We therefore decided to outsource to a customer contact provider who had a proven record in transactional fulfilment, including time critical mailings.” |

NICEIC (the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) is the industry’s independent, non profit-making, voluntary regulatory body covering the whole of the United Kingdom. Set up almost fifty years ago, the NICEIC maintains a roll of approved contractors that are assessed every year to check that their work meets the national safety standard BS 7671 (the IEE wiring regulation) and other relevant technical standards. We employ more than 60 area engineers, based all over the country, who make annual visits to approved contractors to assess their technical capability and inspect samples of their electrical work. We have head office staff of more than 80 people including 22 electrical engineers, and we operate a technical helpline where contractors and specifiers can obtain practical advice and guidance.
