Major Investment in ProLogis Park Reinforces Commitment to Coventry. Creates over 30 New Jobs To Date as New Plant is formally opened
Inkfish Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Domestic & General Group, has reinforced its commitment to the Coventry area with the opening of a new, 56,000 sq. ft direct mailing facility in the ProLogis business park. The facility on Pilgrims Walk is formally opened on 22 September 2004. All staff previously based just 5 miles away in Cross Point have already transferred to the new facility, and over 30 new jobs have already been filled, with further recruitment ongoing.
From its Coventry premises, Inkfish Services provides mailing services to such household names as BSkyB, Dyson, Electrolux, Hitachi, Lloyds, NTL and Pioneer. The company has had operations in Coventry since 1995, when its previous facility at Cross Point became operational.
The new Inkfish facility, however, marks a significant expansion of the company’s presence in the town - over 500% larger than Inkfish’s previous premises - it will house state-of-the-art mailing and enclosing machinery, enabling Inkfish to significantly improve its overall business capacity. Within the first year of operation, Inkfish will increase its overall mailing capacity from 68 million to 150 million mailing letters with enclosures. Inkfish will also be able to offer new services to customers, including polywrapping and A4 insertion, and has space for over 3500 storage pallets for customer mailings.
The ability to expand its operations within the Coventry area was a key reason behind Inkfish Services choosing the new location. The fact that existing employees can easily access the new site, without significant impact on their quality of life through transport or similar issues, means that full continuity of employment has been maintained. In support of further growth, Inkfish Services is continuing to invest in its already highly-respected training and development programmes for both existing and new employees.

Inkfish Services joins a number of prestigious organisations already based in the ProLogis Business Park, including Bridgestone, Capita Business Services, Exel Logistics and Tesco. The new facility was been completed in only 7 months.
